On the heels of a faceoff about anti-pipeline protesters arrested in B.C., Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be answering questions at a town hall meeting in Regina Thursday night.
Regina Liberal MP Ralph Goodale’s website invites the public to attend the town hall meeting to raise the issues that matter to them. The notice encourages people to RSVP online to the event, but says admission will be granted on a first come, first serve basis.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the University of Regina’s Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport and the doors will open at 5 p.m. Large bags and coats will not be permitted inside the venue and there will be a mandatory coat and bag check for security.
While Trudeau faced fiery questions from Indigenous people at Wednesday’s town hall in Kamloops about the arrest of anti-pipeline protesters in northern B.C., he may face tough questions on the opposing side of the issue while visiting Saskatchewan.
The prime minister’s visit comes days after a rally outside the Saskatchewan Legislature in support of the oil and gas industry which focused on the need to build pipelines to improve market access for oil.
Premier Scott Moe spoke at the protest and referenced the province’s upcoming court challenge to the federally imposed carbon tax.
