Don’t complain that the New England Patriots are back in the AFC Championship game.
OK. I guess you can be a little annoyed if you’re not a fan of the Pats that they’re here again. This is the eighth straight year New England is in the final four.
But let’s remember a day in October of this season.
The New England Patriots hosted the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs and first-year starter Patrick Mahomes.
We were treated to the game of the year with the Chiefs coming back from a 24-9 half time deficit to tie the game at 40 only to see Brady march the Patriots down for a game-winning field goal to end the game.
43-40 Patriots. After the game many were saying wouldn’t it be something if these two teams meet for the AFC Championship?
Well, here we are. If you’re a fan of dynasties, you’ll be rooting for the Patriots. If you want to see a new team play for the Super Bowl out of the AFC, you’ve got Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Either way, let’s hope Sunday’s AFC title game can match the drama from the first meeting of Mahomes vs Brady.
