Some Regina daycares were on high alert Tuesday afternoon.
Regina police said six daycares received threatening messages on Tuesday afternoon, prompting heightened security protocols and a police presence at the facilities.
However, as police investigated they found the threats originated in the United States, and the person who sent them is too far away to carry them out.
Other cities have also received similar threats and Regina police say it appears to be the same person sending them to all of the locations.
No unusual activity has been reported at any of the daycares.
Police did not say which daycares were subject to the threats.
