Over 3,000 stuffed animals were tossed onto the ice.
During a cold snap like the one Regina saw last week it may be tempting to leave the car running to warm it up, but Regina police are reminding people it’s a bad idea.
Between Jan. 15 and 22, 40 vehicles were stolen in the Queen City.
Twenty of them were either running or had the keys stored inside at the time of the theft.
Regina police recommend not leaving your car running and unattended no matter how short the errand, locking the door and bringing the keys inside instead of leaving them in the console or glove box.
It only takes a few seconds for a thief to jump into an unoccupied car and drive away, police added.
