First impressions are everything!
The Alliance of American Football has a great opportunity to show that their new rules and their new way of doing things is just as, if not more entertaining than the product we currently get from the NFL or even the CFL.
The AAF’s first impression is Saturday in front of a national audience on CBS with two games to open the season.
They are the only games on CBS’ main network until they get moved to CBS Sports Network, NFL Network, Bleacher Report live and TNT.
The XFL’s first impression was bad. Sloppy football played by second-rate players with the WWE influence that made it seem somewhat shady. It lasted one season.
The AAF has a great television partner to start off with some reputable coaches and ownership group.
But it only works if people watch. I’ll give it chance but like many, it better be good or the next football I watch will be in May with the CFL.
