Rabbits in Regina are rejoicing at the latest news from the City.
It’s suspending its two-week pilot project where it was trapping rabbits due to a booming population.
This was the second year for the pilot project.
It came to the decision due to the traps being tampered with.
In a written statement, the City said the pilot project was a last resort due to increasing concerns from residents about damage being done to new trees, particularly in the Harbour Landing area.
The City said the approach to manage wild animal growth includes deterrents, such as tree wraps, as a first step.
