Five boys accused in girl’s sexual assault in Regina

Five teenage and pre-teen boys are accused in a horrific crime in Regina where a girl was sexually assaulted.

It’s not clear when the crime is believed to have happened, but Regina police say officers were called to a hospital on Friday, Feb. 22 where the victim was. Her age hasn’t been released, all police have said is that she’s under 18.

The five boys were arrested over the weekend and made their first court appearance on Monday.

All five are charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm – the two 15-year-olds are facing that charge jointly. Each is also charged with anal intercourse, which is listed under sexual offenses in the Canadian criminal code.

In addition to the assault charges, three of the five accused are also charged with making child pornography, and transmitting or sharing child pornography. One of the two 15-year-olds is also facing a charge of possession of child pornography.

After their court appearance on Monday, four of the boys were released until their next court date. The 15-year-old who’s also charged with possession of child pornography was kept in police custody, though the reason wasn’t readily available.
