Fifteen stretches of highway in Saskatchewan are set to be upgraded.
The federal and provincial governments announced Monday that improvements will be done on 259 kilometres of road in 15 stretches along highways 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 16, 33 and 39.
The Government of Saskatchewan is putting $41.5 million into the work, with the federal government providing $40.2 million.
“Since 2008, our government has made highways and transportation infrastructure a priority through record investments and safety improvements,” Prince Albert Carlton MLA Joe Hargrave said in a media release announcing the province’s investment in the project.
“As a province that is land-locked, we continue to invest to support our economic competitiveness and to improve the quality of life and safety for our people,” he said.
