Food, music and art were not the only features at Prince Albert’s top street festival.
Pilot Stefan Trischuk treated residents and visitors to a flyover air show at Prince Albert Downtown Business Improvement District’s Street Fair on Saturday.
“We went full throttle and made some noise and had some fun,” he said, describing how it felt to take to the sky with passenger Evert Botha.
Trischuk performed stunts and did some sky writing while he zipped up and down Central Avenue.
When he arrived on the ground, Trischuk said he was happy with the response he received from some of the event attendees, even though he couldn’t see their reaction first hand.
“People said it was great, they said a lot of the kids were watching and it was cute,” he said.
Thousands of attendees watched Trischuk fly in a custom built Pitts Special X2C Biplane. The plane seats two people and reaches a top speed of about 354 kilometres per hour.
The 28-year-old pilot from Saskatoon has been flying for nine years.
He has flown for audiences across western Canada and parts of the northern United States and said he was happy to be bringing his talent to Prince Albert and looks forward to returning again next year.
