Spring is arriving in the Land of Living Skies.
The season officially changes Wednesday afternoon as Saskatchewan says goodbye to winter.
Environment Canada’s David Phillips said on the Greg Morgan Morning Show that Regina has been seeing temperatures around the 10 C range — something that hasn’t been seen since around Halloween.
And the spring-like temperatures are sticking around for a bit.
“It’s not a one-day wonder. You look out at the seven-day forecast and, yeah, you see some coolish temperatures Sunday, Monday but those are still normal,” Phillips said, noting the normal highs for this time of the year are just above the freezing mark.
“I think it’s the duration of this that adds a lot to the pleasure of it.”
But that doesn’t mean Regina is in the clear when it comes to snow. In the 112 years of records, the Queen City has only seen three Aprils without any snow.
“It could be a dusting of snow,” Phillips said. “It’s a trace so it’s not going to bury you.”
