Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) has found and announced its new chief executive officer (CEO).
On Wednesday, the board of directors appointed Chris Lane as their new CEO. He will take over the job on July 4.
In a news release, CWA president Stewart Stone said “on behalf of the board, we are pleased to welcome Chris to the CWA team. He brings a great mix of leadership, communications, and community involvement.”
Lane is a former senior producer at CBC.
Lane has an agricultural background growing up in northern Alberta and has over a decade experience leading teams and organizations.
Lane said in the same news release “I am excited to join an organization that has such a strong footprint in the community and passion for the industry.”
He takes over for Marty Seymour, who left to work for Farm Credit Canada.
