A fight over fare almost cost a 40-year-old taxi driver his life.
Police said the driver picked up a woman and a man near the downtown bus mall Wednesday evening. The pair was headed to an address on the west side of Saskatoon.
Officials said once they reached the destination, there was a dispute over the fare that led to the woman grabbing the taxi driver around the neck and pulling out a knife.
The male passenger was able to restrain the woman and the knife was thrown from the taxi.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The woman is facing charges including assault with a weapon and obtaining transportation by fraud.
