Saskatchewan outdoor enthusiasts rushed to their computers to reserve their campsites in the province’s parks Tuesday morning.
The online reservation system gave people a chance to get into the holding queue at 6:40 a.m. to try to ensure they could be one of the first ones to pick their seasonal sites.
Minh Truong, director of park experiences with Sask. parks, told the 980 CJME Greg Morgan Morning Show that people had to create a new account due to their new system.
At 7 a.m., Truong said everyone is assigned a random place in line for people to begin booking their campsites.
After seasonal booking on Tuesday, group reservations begin Thursday with nightly launches starting to happen April 8.
“That is all our provincial parks opening up on separate days there,” Truong said.
Blackstrap and Pike Lake will be the first sites people can make their reservations at on Monday.
