Two Regina men are facing gun-related charges after an incident on Thursday that saw police use a Taser.
Officers were sent to the area near Casino Regina shortly after 4 a.m., after getting a call about a man with a gun.
The suspect was found near the intersection of Rose Street and Saskatchewan Drive, according to a police news release.
Police said the man was still in possession of a gun when an officer used a Taser on him.
The suspect was arrested, given medical treatment and then taken to the Regina police cells.
The officer’s use of the Taser will be reviewed by the Regina Police Service use-of-force committee and reported to the Saskatchewan Police Commission.
The two men, aged 22 and 30, were arrested and charged with a number of gun-related offences, including: possession of a firearm obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
