The 2016 civic election is fast-approaching, with voting options becoming publicly available starting early July.
Eligible voters who anticipate not being able to cast a ballot at an advance poll between Oct. 15-22, or on Election Day Oct. 26, can still take part through the mail-in ballot process.
It’s a little different than the usual step-up-and-vote practice:
Once a voter has applied, a mail-in ballot package will be sent via none other than the mail in early October.
It includes a ballot, along with instructions on how to complete and return the package. A self-addressed return envelope will be provided.
Ballots must be received by the returning officer by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Wednesday, Oct. 26.
