U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reversed a decision it made on the hours of operation at a border crossing south of Regina.
In a media release, the American government body announced it was returning the Port of Raymond, Mont., to a 24-hour schedule next Tuesday. That crossing is on Highway 6, directly south of Regina on the road to Plentywood.
On Monday, the hours of operation at the Port of Raymond were decreased from 24 hours a day to 18 hours (6 a.m. to midnight). That change concerned the Saskatchewan Truckers Association and others.
In the media release, CBP said it was “reassessing feedback received on the adjustment of hours” at the port. While it continues to review that feedback, CBP said it was returning the port to a 24-hour crossing.
“CBP will continue to monitor and analyze traffic and workload at the Raymond Port of Entry and encourages community members to provide feedback,” the release continued.
