A 52-year-old man from Louisiana is facing child pornography charges after being arrested at the Canada-U.S. border.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit said in a media release Tuesday that officers of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) stopped the man at the North Portal border crossing on Friday.
The CBSA officers arrested the man after finding suspected child pornography on his digital devices. ICE officers attended, confirmed the material was child pornography, and seized the man’s computer, laptop, cellphone, hard drives and flash drives.
The man was charged with importation of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He made his first court appearance in Estevan on Monday, when the case was adjourned to May 6.
