The 2016 Craven Country Jamboree has seen the number of people charged by the RCMP drop from last year at this time according to Inspector Ted Monroe.
“Numbers are down from last year which is good … it’s all about education and general public understanding that you’re here to have fun and safety is the utmost importance.”
Monroe credits all around cooperation between a number of different groups of people.
“I think probably the security staff, our members and just the message … being given out by everybody, it’s about having fun, safety I think that’s the key.”
Monroe said that in the past 24 hours RCMP have charged three people with assault with a weapon as well as charged three people with driving under the influence.
