The United States Customs and Border Protection is announcing changes once again to a number of border crossings between Saskatchewan and Montana.
Just over a month ago, CBP changed hours to the same entry ports into the United States. Effective June 1, the Scobey, Opheim and Morgan crossings will operate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The change allows all of them to be open an extra hour into the evening. The switch will be permanent.
Also announced, the Regway/Raymond port of entry will remain open for 24 hours per day for the entirety of the 2019 summer. Last month it was declared the port of entry would close at midnight, before heavy criticism forced the decision to be reversed.
In a release, CBP said it has “taken into account the feedback received from local community members, stakeholders and elected officials.”
The organization encourages more feedback and discussion with the future changes of border crossing hours.
