Garth Brooks to play Mosaic Stadium in Regina

Longtime country music star Garth Brooks is to play at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium this August.

It’s the first time Brooks is to play in Regina. He announced the news on Twitter early Wednesday morning.

He’s set to play on Aug. 10 at 7 p.m.

In June 2016, the country music icon played six shows in Saskatoon; he last performed in the Bridge City 20 years prior.

Brooks’ Regina show is part of his North American Stadium Tour, which is currently underway.

Tickets for the Regina show are to go on sale June 7 at 10 a.m. They’re available through Ticketmaster, starting at $79.71 before taxes and fees.

“It’s going to be an August to remember,” Mayor Michael Fougere said of the concert. “This is why we built this stadium, to have events like this come here, world-class events like Garth Brooks come here.”

The mayor said he’s expecting a sellout for the show, adding he thinks fans’ eagerness to see Brooks will be just as strong as it was in 2016 in Saskatoon.

This concert, the upcoming NHL Heritage Classic and the Eagles previously playing the venue show that Mosaic Stadium and Regina are destination spots for sports and entertainment, Fougere said.

“(Brooks) is only stopping at some of the best stadiums in North America, and Mosaic Stadium is on that list,” Evraz Place president Tim Reid said. “This is going to be Garth Brooks in the round, a full house, 360 (degrees), so it’ll be something that’s really special.”
