The Saskatchewan Roughriders head into Friday’s first pre-season game with a quarterback who the head coach admitted needs to get better chemistry going with the receivers but also a fight for the No. 2 job to back up that same quarterback.
And when it comes to pre-season football, the biggest questions are around the rotation, time share, and usage of the quarterbacks.
But we know one thing about the QB rotation for the Roughriders. Don’t do what Chris Jones did last season.
It was one of the most ridiculous and costly errors that derailed what could have been a strong start to the year.
Jones played yo-yo with Zach Collaros and Brandon Bridge in the second pre-season game. Then, beyond reason, Jones put Collaros behind an offensive line of third-stringers and guess what happened.
BOOM! Collaros gets Concussion No. 1 on the year that eventually put him out for four weeks.
Whatever Craig Dickenson decides, there should be one rule. Collaros only sees the field with the best O-line in front of him.
