Proven. The 7-2 win by the Boston Bruins in Game 3 did not carry over into Game 4.
Too often we are quick to react to a blowout, thinking either the series is over or the season is a loss. Not so.
It happens time and time again, especially in seven-game series in hockey and basketball where you think one blowout means the series has shifted.
The St. Louis Blues proved again a blowout just means the bounces, the calls, the effort wasn’t in their favour for one game and one game only.
The Blues came out hot with a goal in the first minute in Game 4, and for the most part, they were the better team in a 4-2 win over Boston.
However, it doesn’t mean anything when it comes to what will happen next.
They didn’t figure out Boston. They didn’t take momentum in the series. It only means they won Game 4.
And it’s over.
We move on to Game 5 on Thursday, when all we know is after the game, one team will be one win away from the Stanley Cup.
