I hate to sound like a hypocrite and nearly celebrate a missed call in the National Hockey League after the officials have been kicking it around over the course of the playoffs.
After years of the Boston Bruins roughing up the opponents with rarely a penalty being called, they had one go against them Thursday.
Yes, it was costly as the game-winning goal was in the back of the net just seconds after the Blues’ Tyler Bozak tripped up his opponent — and boy, did he look guilty with his palms in the air.
Bozak was likely as surprised as anyone he wasn’t going to the box he celebrated with his teammates.
But the reason I don’t feel too bad about Boston, apart from being a bitter Canucks fans, is the Blues have had so many calls bounce the opposite way.
However, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy was right after the game. The officials are giving hockey a black eye with another egregious miss.
