Excess gas to be burned off by TransGas southwest of Regina

You might notice some large flames in the southwest part of Regina the week of July 25.

TransGas is conducting occasional, controlled burns at the Regina storage cavern near the Lewvan overpass. Natural gas will be released. It’s part of the company’s regular pipeline maintenance. The flares are also needed as part of operational upgrades.

Drivers and those living near the area could see 20-foot flares at times.

To ensure public safety, areas around the flares will be supervised.
