The Riders should give the ball to Cody Fajardo and see what he can do with it.
After seeing the back-and-forth of a quarterback rotation for the last two years in Saskatchewan, it’s time to see if players can sink or swim at quarterback.
Fajardo earned the backup job out of training camp to the point head coach Craig Dickenson didn’t even play him in the second pre-season game it was such a sure thing.
Now, it’s Week 2 and Dickenson says he’s going to play with a quarterback rotation to change up the pace of the offence against the Redblacks.
I’ve never liked a quarterback rotation. Give one guy the nod and let him see how far he takes the opportunity.
If he fails, have a backup plan and give your faith to the next guy up. But playing yo-yo doesn’t show a lot of confidence in any of the backups right now.
It definitely feels like training camp continues now to see which quarterback deserves the coach’s confidence.
Too bad these games actually count.
