Hey, Mike Fisher. From one dad to another, we’ve all been there.
The former NHLer’s wife, Carrie Underwood, posted a video of Fisher singing to their kid. The kid was having none of it, that is until the Nashville artist started to sing and the baby calmed down. Until Mike tried to resume the song and tears flowed again. The back and forth continued.
All dads know that feeling: Bending over, watching your son or daughter looking for comfort, only to see them run right by you in the arms of mom.
I don’t know if I ever did that as a kid but I know my own have done this a few times. Mom’s hugs are clearly a warmer, more-soothing place. Babies did, however, live inside their mother, so it’s instinctive to head there first.
However, like Fisher, all of us dads will be there for the odd and rare occasion when it’s our arms they choose or our voice they are calmed by.
But in all honesty, wouldn’t we all rather listen to Carrie Underwood sing over Mike Fisher?
