Football fans heading to the Saskatchewan Roughriders home opener Monday might want to do some extra planning for their routes to and from Mosaic Stadium.
Regina police say they’ll be closing off several roads around the stadium, including all of Elphinstone Street from Dewdney Avenue to Saskatchewan Drive.
Other road closures in the area include:
- Princess Street and Ninth Avenue
- Argyle Street and Ninth Avenue
- McTavish Street and Ninth Avenue
- Elphinstone Street and Ninth Avenue
- Montague Street and 10th Avenue
- Elphinstone Street and North Railway Street
- Saskatchewan Drive and Elphinstone Street
- The road closures start at 1 p.m.
As usual, Rider Transit will be in effect with pickup locations throughout Regina.
Kickoff against the Toronto Argonauts is slated for 5 p.m.
Canada Day road restrictions
The City of Regina plans to close off the Albert Street bridge for Canada Day fireworks celebrations. The closure will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
As a reminder, the city listed some of its major construction projects that will likely delay traffic on Canada Day.

- Albert Street South – Gordon Road to Parliament Avenue
- College Avenue – Smith Street to Cornwall Street
- Lewvan Drive – First Avenue North and Fourth Avenue
- Pasqua Street – 13th Avenue to Victoria Avenue
- Ring Road – Wascana Parkway to Assiniboine Avenue
- Victoria Avenue – Albert Street to Cornwall Street
- Victoria Avenue – Elphinstone Street to Pasqua Street
