Two sisters will be representing Regina when the seventh season of Amazing Race Canada premieres Tuesday night.
On the Greg Morgan Morning Show on Tuesday, Lauren Lavoie said there’s nobody with whom she’d rather participate on the show than her sister, Joanne.
The two are best friends but that wasn’t always the case.
“We have a six-year age gap so there were some huge fights for a long time,” Lauren said. “Once I think (Joanne was) about 14 years old, it sort of clicked and we got really, really close and we have been since then.”
Contestants will complete various tasks, puzzles and challenges in hopes of winning a $250,000 cash prize. Trips around the world and new vehicles are also on the line.
Joanne said their chemistry gives them an advantage.
“You need to be on the race with someone that you don’t even have to speak with sometimes. You know exactly what they’re thinking because there are split-second decisions and I wouldn’t trust anybody else but Lauren,” she said.
The sisters already know how the season ends but can’t disclose how well they fared.
Joanne said the experience taught them a lot.
“You can do absolutely anything, no matter what walk of life you came from, where you’re starting. You can impress yourself, you can impress your partner, just go out and try new things,” she said.
