A Saskatoon man is facing a number of weapons and drug related charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team.
At approximately 9 p.m. Friday Saskatoon police conducted a high risk traffic stop in the area of 8th Street and Acadia Drive.
A male passenger from the vehicle fled and was taken into custody after a brief chase.
On arrest, investigators located 48.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a loaded handgun and $1760 cash.
A high risk search warrant was served by members of the Tactical Support Unit at a residence in the 100 Block Slimmon Road where an SKS Assault rifle and handgun were found and seized.
The 26 year old man now faces 31 drug and weapons related charges and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court, Monday August 8, 2016.
