A 20-year-old Regina man is facing a number of weapons charges after he allegedly shot a car Wednesday morning.
In a media release, the Regina Police Service said officers responded just after 5:30 a.m., to the 1400 block of Princess Street after someone reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot. The caller also said a man had been seen walking away.
When officers arrived in the area, they spotted a man who matched the suspect’s description. They arrested the man, who was found to be carrying bullets.
A search of the surrounding area located a gun as well as a vehicle that had damage consistent with a gunshot. A live bullet also was found near the vehicle.
The man faces seven weapons-related charges and one of failing to comply with a recognizance. He was to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
