A trip to the fair wouldn’t be complete without rides.
This year’s Queen City Ex features a new one called the Star Dancer.
“We premiered it this spring in Miami, Florida for the very first time. We bought it from Italy and it has been nothing but a hit. It’s a midway thrill ride in every sense of the word. (It’s) made for the midway hardcore rider,” said Scooter Corek, vice-president of client services for North American Midway Entertainment.
Corek described the ride as a “claw ride.”
Star Dancer takes 16 passengers, swinging them like a pendulum while also spinning them 360 degrees.
“It’s great to look at. We got ourselves a real winner on our hands,” Corek said.
Corek said it’s not a frightening ride, noting that he has been on it himself.
“It’s smooth but it’s exciting and a thrilling ride,” he said.
Corek added that reviews from riders have been good.
” ‘That is fantastic.’ That is a repeating theme time after time,” Corek said.
To ride Star Dancer, people need to be at least 4-foot-6.
