Berkly Catton, Brayden Yager, Caden Price and Tanner Howe were all named.
The CFL have fined the Riders $60,000 and taken $26,000 off of the team’s salary cap.
The action comes after a league investigation found the team had violated roster rules.
Specifically the league said the team had violated rules by having players who were on the six game injured list take part in practice.
The league also said the team allowed players to practice who were not under contract.
The league said the investigation involved league officials visiting the teams practices and took a number of weeks.
The fine comes on the heels of allegations by Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo-Levi Mitchell that the Riders were breaking roster rules.
League Commissioner Jeffrey Orridge had some harsh words in a statement announcing the fine.
“The recent conduct, behavior and activities of the Saskatchewan Roughriders have compromised the reputation of the CFL.”
