Regina police and a group of other law enforcement agencies have dismantled a large drug operation in the city after finishing Project Nuke on Monday and Tuesday.
An emailed news release from the police service on Friday said officers raided five different spots in the city to execute search warrants after a two-month investigation.
Those locations were at the 3800 block of Dewdney Avenue on Monday, and the 2900 block of Parliament Avenue, the 300 block of Smith Street, the 100 block of Montreal Street North and the 1800 block of Albert Street on Tuesday.
During the raids, RPS members and officers with the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST) seized cocaine, fentanyl, bullets and Canadian cash.
The seizures and the raids allowed police to charge eight different men with drug, weapons and/or theft charges.
Five of the men are from Regina; one each is from Calgary, Edmonton and Etobicoke, Ont.
The combined police unit was called the Regina Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), which is comprised of members from the RPS, the RCMP, Saskatoon police and Prince Albert police.
