Garth Brooks may have come and gone now, but he certainly made a lasting impression on the city.
After a stormy start to kick off Friday’s concert, Saturday night proved luckier with warm weather and a schedule that went according to plan.
Hey #yqr #Saskatchewan @PremierScottMoe @MayorFougere remember when @garthbrooks played a perfect Saturday night @MosaicCompany Stadium @evrazplacelive and we set a 🏟 attendance record … was there ever any doubt! pic.twitter.com/7969ZANJdS

Jesse Labelle kicked things off at 7 p.m., before the icon himself took the stage to a sellout crowd around 9 o’clock.
Following the show, fans had some high praise for Brooks.
“He’s the best show,” one fan told 980 CJME. “He connects with you on a different level than anyone else, emotionally, spiritually (and) musically.”
Brooks announced his first-ever headlining show in the Queen City on May 29 and a second show was announced on June 10.
“When you get multiple nights, it takes all the pressure off and you get to go out and just have fun,” Brooks said at a media conference prior to Friday night’s show. “You know you’re going to get to do it the next day and the next day. At stadium shows, the pressure’s a little tougher because it’s a one-night thing.”
Thank you @garthbrooks
One of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen. That dude never stopped smiling. #GARTHinREGINA pic.twitter.com/aT5XU5f2CJ

Some fans were able to take in both concerts to get the full Garth Brooks effect, but for those who went only on Saturday night, they were happy with their choice.
“I’m glad I came today. The show started right away (and) we didn’t have to wait around in the rain,” said one concert-goer.
Regardless of weather, fans were thrilled at the chance to see Brooks, with a number of them saying it was the best show they could’ve asked for. No fan who 980 CJME spoke to had a bad word to say about the show.
“Garth Brooks is easily the best entertainer that we’ve seen. Easily,” one fan claimed.

A popular favourite among all fans at the concert was Brooks’ hit Friends In Low Places.
Although the show might be over, Brooks certainly has friends in the Queen City.
With our friends in high places: We were a long way from the impressive stage for an emotional @garthbrooks concert with the Saskatchewan Legislative Building illuminated in the background. Memorable! #GARTHinREGINA #MosaicStadium. Well done @evrazplacelive! pic.twitter.com/jiiK89ERig
