Garth Brooks’ two concerts in Regina got rave reviews.
Turns out the country music star is raving about the Queen City, too.
“They told me that Regina was kind of laidback (and) calm,” Brooks said on his Facebook live show Inside Studio G. “Yeah — no. That was fricking fantastic.
“That was fun. They were nuts. They were so good, man.”
Brooks played shows at Mosaic Stadium on Friday and Saturday. The shows were well-received by those who attended, but Brooks also was ecstatic with the shows — and with the reception he received.
Canada, these two AWESOME nights were not enough! We can’t wait to come back and announce another city in your great country 🇨🇦 !!! love, g #GARTHinREGINA pic.twitter.com/cs2zo2MSiG

“This was the weekend of weekends right here,” Brooks said during his Facebook chat. “This was fun …
“I told them twice, ‘I feel like I’m in my own living room.’ This was the most, ‘Just gather around the campfire (and) have fun.’ ”
The show Friday was delayed by a rainstorm that hit Regina.
People waited out the storm in their vehicles or inside the Brandt Centre and other buildings on Evraz Place — and their safety was Brooks’ priority.
“All of music has had some pretty tragic accidents, so you keep on top of it,” Brooks said. “You’ve got to get right there with it.”
He and officials from Regina Exhibition Association Limited met regularly during the storm to keep an eye on the radar, predicting when the show could start.
After waiting for about 2 1/2 hours, Brooks took the stage.
I fell in love with Canada tonight!! You turned a stormy situation into a DREAM night!! love, g #GARTHinREGINA pic.twitter.com/s01JmoxpiS

“When the final go is given, the most important thing is everybody is safe,” he said. “The second thing is, be prepared, because when that final go is given, these people are tired of waiting (so you have to) get out there (and) get your (butt) going.”
Brooks said he understood the concert-goers inside the stadium had been standing on the concourse waiting, so he had expectations that things would start slowly. He was pleasantly surprised by the fans’ reaction.
“When you come out of the hole, it’s OK that they’re just dead — and you expect them to be,” Brooks said. “And I’ll be damned if they didn’t come at it full force.
“Probably about the fourth or fifth song in, we did ‘Fishing in the Dark’ and that place turned on and never turned off the rest of the night.”
