Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch Friday for areas in eastern Saskatchewan.
The watch covered areas around Yorkton, Melville and Esterhazy. A severe thunderstorm warning for the region ended just before 5 p.m., but was replaced by the watch.
The weather service said in its alert that conditions are “favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.”
