A 64-year-old Regina man is in police custody after he was taken down by people who were being robbed at gunpoint.
A second suspect managed to get away.
According to a media release from the Regina Police Service, officers responded Sunday just after 1 a.m., to a weapons call at a business in the 800 block of Argyle Street North. The police were told there were two men with guns inside the business.
When officers arrived, they found one of the men still inside.
“This suspect had sustained an injury which resulted from an apparent physical confrontation with witnesses/victims inside the business,” said the media release, which noted the second suspect had ran away. “The first suspect was taken to hospital by EMS.”
A pellet gun was found at the scene.
The 64-year-old was charged with armed robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and breach of an undertaking.
The second man was described as being between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-0, wearing a dark hoodie, light pants, dark shoes and gloves. His face was covered by a mask.
