The Hospitals of Regina Foundation’s fall home lottery is here, with a chance to win a million-dollar home and support a good cause at the same time.
The foundation unveiled its fall 2019 Home Lottery home Wednesday, a $1.1 million grand prize in The Creeks that comes with $30,000 in cash.
The deadline to buy tickets for the grand prize is midnight on Nov. 15, with the draw slated for Nov. 27.
The home is 3,600 square feet and features four bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, and a master suite with an attached walk-in closet and spa bathroom.
Dino Sophocleous, the president and CEO of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, said proceeds raised through ticket sales go toward the foundation’s $2-million Cardiac Care campaign to raise money for new technology at the Regina General Hospital’s Mosaic Heart Centre.
“We’re actually replacing and upgrading technology in the cath lab,” said Sophocleous. “The foundation has committed $5 million this year to the hospitals, (and) $2 million of that is going to the Mosaic Heart Centre.”
The Mosaic Company is also matching all contributions up to $1 million, doubling the proceeds to cardiac care.
Dr. Jeffrey Booker, an interventional cardiologist, said money raised by the home is crucial to saving patient lives through new technology.
“It’s tremendously important,” he said. “Having the right technology to bring the latest innovations to serve our patients is huge.”
Ken Ripplinger, the designer of the showhome, said the design concept for the home was the work of his team at Ripplinger Homes. The goal was to create a plan with specifics that would be most appealing to the general public, such as an open concept kitchen and living room, and a sunken office space on the main floor.
The home is located at 4527 Chuka Dr. in The Creeks.
The bonus prize deadline is midnight on Oct. 4, with the draw to be held Oct. 17. The early bird deadline is midnight on Nov. 1, with the draw set for Nov. 13.
Tickets are $100 each. They can be purchased by calling 1-800-667-7760 or visiting the Hospitals of Regina Foundation website.
