The Regina Police Service is investigating a case in which a dog died after ingesting poison.
In a media release Thursday, the police said they didn’t know if the poisoning was accidental or deliberate.
The case involves a dog that got sick on July 18 and died two days later. The dog’s owner told officers that a veterinarian determined that the dog had consumed rabbit poison, but it wasn’t clear how the dog ingested the poison or what substance was involved.
The police don’t know when or where the poisoning occurred, but it’s believed to have happened July 18 in a park in the Wascana View neighbourhood.
Anyone with information is asked to call Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. As well, the police are recommending that anyone who sees anything suspicious while walking their dog should call the police service.
