A man wanted on outstanding warrants was arrested by the Regina Police Service early Friday during a call that included the SWAT team.
According to a media release from the Regina Police Service, the incident happened on the 1900 block of Winnipeg Street. Officers descended on a house to arrest the wanted man, but he refused to leave the residence.
The warrants were for firearms and other violent offences. The release said residents in nearby homes were contacted and advised to shelter in place.
At approximately 2 a.m., crisis negotiators and members of the Special Weapons and Tactics team arrived on the scene. About an hour later, the man and two women left the house and were taken into custody. The women were later released.
