Regina police are searching for one young offender who escaped from secure custody at the Paul Dojack Youth Centre Thursday afternoon.
An update provided by the government around 8 p.m. Thursday stated four boys had originally got away, but three have since been found.
Police are still looking for the youth, who can no longer be named, due to an expired court order. He’s described as 5’11”, 145 pounds, slight build, with brown hair and brown eyes.
The province isn’t revealing what the young offender was convicted of, but we do know it is violent in nature.
An investigation is underway to determine how the four escaped.
“The investigation will bear out exactly what occurred and how these individuals were able to escape. We have some preliminary information at this time but it would be too early for me to comment,” Drew Wilby with Corrections explained. “Once that information does come to light it can be very dangerous in the sense that if someone was able to escape a certain way we wouldn’t want other to undertake the same thing.”
If anyone knows the whereabouts of the missing youth, you are encouraged to contact police immediately.
