Today I want to focus on a baseball team that next to no one talks about — the Milwaukee Brewers.
Before I continue, I should point out that I am a Dodger guy. Not since 1982, when Milwaukee advanced to the World Series, have I given much thought to the Brewers. I have to ask if anyone in Saskatchewan, other than my good buddy Darrell Davis, cheers for this team.
After 1982 my only exposure to the club was when Darrell used to wear this really cool hat to Saskatchewan Roughriders camp, day in, day out, year in, year out. Aside from Darrell’s cap, this team was out of sight, out of mind for me. I’m assuming others in this province felt the same way.
In 2019, this Brewers team will make its second straight appearance in baseball’s playoffs. It’s an amazing feat considering the Brewers lost their MVP, Christian Yelich, to a fractured kneecap earlier this month.
The likable Craig Counsell leads a team that I can get behind in these 2019 playoffs, unless they face my Dodgers.
