One of the staples of football is that the feature back is almost always a factor.
Opposing defences know that the star running back is going to get the ball, yet thanks in part to great offensive lines, the tailbacks are, in many instances, the difference-makers.
Enter Andrew Harris. The CFL’s only 1,000-yard rusher to date this season brings his Bombers to Mosaic Stadium on Saturday. Even though he has carried the ball 163 times, Harris is still averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
Harris, who was forced to miss the two previous games against the Riders due to suspension, will also be out to prove a point this week against a team that sits a half-game ahead of Winnipeg in the standings.
Don’t get me wrong, Saskatchewan’s defence is good, and the Riders have a great shot to win tomorrow.
However, when it comes to dealing with Andrew Harris, Saskatchewan won’t be able to totally shut him down. All the Riders can do is try to minimize his impact.
