It was a wet, snowy and windy wake up call for most of Saskatchewan Monday.
Environment Canada said an upper-level disturbance came through the province Sunday night from Alberta, causing the soggy conditions.
However, Environment Canada meteorologist Kyle Ziolkowski said the system shouldn’t last long.
Ziolkowski said snow would likely be coming for Regina and the southern portion of Saskatchewan later on Monday, while Saskatoon and central Saskatchewan should see the snow turn to rain as the day progresses.
Moving into the short work week, Ziolkowski said the precipitation should move out of the province by Tuesday afternoon.
“It looks like later in the week, things are going to get pretty nice. We’re looking at temperatures getting to near normal or just above normal temperatures,” he said.
Seasonal normals for Saskatoon and the central parts of the province are between 0 C and 11 C, and between – 3 C and 11 C in Regina and southern Saskatchewan.
