The Regina Police Service’s drug unit seized nearly 8.5 kilograms of drugs during searches in the city Friday.
According to a media release Tuesday, the police said search warrants were executed on residences in Haughton Road and the 3900 block of Seventh Avenue East in the city’s east end.
Officers found what the police called a “significant” amount of drugs, comprising nearly 6,700 grams of methamphetamine, 1,600 grams of cocaine and 177 grams of fentanyl. As well, 514 grams of an unidentified powder were recovered; it’s to be sent to Health Canada for identification.
Also seized was $59,920 in Canadian currency.
A 29-year-old man was charged with the possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl.
The man made his first court appearance Monday and was remanded into custody.
