Calgary Dino’s Niko DiFonte kicked a 10-yard field goal with 41 seconds left in Friday night’s battle to give them a 20-19 win over the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
The Huskies haven’t beaten the Dino’s since 2010.
“We had the wind in the fourth quarter and just needed one more first down, but it just didn’t happen,” said Huskies head coach Brian Towriss.
“That’s football.”
The Dino’s marched the ball 101 yards on the game-winning drive after starting on their own six-yard line.
“We played our hearts out,” Towriss said. “We were good all night, but we just needed to make a couple more plays.”

Huskies quarterback Kyle Siemens went 20-35 throwing for 283 yards and two touchdowns, Tyler Chow had 16 carries for 84 yards.
The Dino’s remain perfect at 3-0, Huskies drop to 2-1.
The Huskies head to Manitoba next week to meet the Bisons. Calgary will visit the Regina Rams.
Another 8000 fans packed the stands for U of S homecoming and the running of the toga tradition remained strong as 80 students took part.
