UPATED: SWAT team sent to high-risk search warrant in Regina

The Regina SWAT team was on-scene executing a high-risk search warrant on the 1200 block of Angus Street on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say it was a part of an ongoing investigation.

Rita Rope has lived in the area for 12 years and she was not surprised this sort of thing happened.

“It’s been happening since I moved to the area and it happens on and off, just because of prior people who lived in the area or used to live in the house,” Rope said.

Tom Morris has lived in the area for two years and he said he keeps to himself when walking in the neighbourhood.

“As long as I keep to myself, you know what I mean, I feel safe,” Morris said. “But, if I go out looking for trouble, trouble’s going to find me.”

Meanwhile, Rope says she feels safer knowing the police are getting rid of crime in the area.

“If it takes the police to do something like that to make the community a safer place then so be it.”

Police have not yet released anymore information about the incident.
