More than 80 charges have been laid after a 14-month-long investigation into the theft of guns in Moose Jaw.
According to a media release from the Moose Jaw Police Service on Wednesday, officers responded Oct. 13, 2018, to a report of a break and enter at a storage locker in the 100 block of Diefenbaker Drive. Officers were told a safe containing more than 25 guns and ammunition had been stolen.
Moose Jaw police and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team since have arrested five people and recovered many of the guns in Regina and Moose Jaw.
The charges include break and enter to steal firearms, firearms trafficking, possession of firearms for the purpose of trafficking, possession of firearms in a motor vehicle, and many other gun charges.
Five people already have appeared in court and a warrant has been issued for a sixth person as well. The police investigation is continuing.
