While the jackpot streak in Saskatchewan has cooled since the end of August, there’s still a winner somewhere in Saskatoon.
A ticket sold in the Bridge City won the Lotto 6/49 $5-million jackpot on Aug. 31. However, Andrea Marantz with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation told Brent Loucks Thursday morning nobody has claimed the prize.
“That isn’t really that unusual,” she said. “There’s all sorts of reasons that can happen. Some people wait until they have a good pile of tickets before they check them. People could have been on holiday.”
The winning numbers were 8, 10, 17, 36, 39, and 44 with a bonus number of 40.
The jackpot was the second big win for Saskatchewan in August. Mary Wernicke from Neville, Sask. won the Aug. 12 prize of $60 million, the largest jackpot in the province’s history.
