Two men are facing weapons charges after an incident Saturday at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue.
One of the men was arrested after he allegedly tried to pull a knife on a police officer.
The Regina Police Service says officers were sent to the business at about 6:10 p.m., to find a 25-year-old man who was wanted on gun charges.
Officers found the man inside the store and arrested him. As they were doing so, a 27-year-old man reached for a knife he had concealed on his person. He too was arrested.
A third male, a 17-year-old, also was detained.
The 25-year-old is facing seven weapons charges and two of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
The 27-year-old was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and assaulting a peace officer with a weapon. He also was charged with possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
The 17-year-old male, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
All three appeared in court Monday.
